Batak articulated puppet head 'Si Gale-Gale'. Used in ceremonial dance performances during funerals. A cord to the back of the head closes the eyes and pokes out the tongue when pulled. Samosir Island, Northern Sumarta. Carved wood with aluminium eyes. Early 20th Century.
