A rare and life like Japanese Iki Ningyo figure of a basket Hawker in a glass display case. The figure is realistically rendered in paint and gesso over a carved structure, inlaid with glass eyes, a Fundoshi (loincloth) and Zori (straw sandals). He carries approximately 70 traditional bamboo baskets. Meiji Period (1869 - 1912)
